Biography
Taylor-Alexis DuPont is a second year Master of Music student from Orlando, Florida. She is honored to be in the voice studio of the world renowned Denyce Grave while studying at Peabody Institute at the Johns Hopkins University. Before attending college, Taylor-Alexis was discovered by and studied with Manny Lujan of the Vocalis Pro studio. She received her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance with Honors and Cum Laude from Florida State University and while studying with Assoc. Professor David Okerlund. She was the 2011 and 2012 Recipient of the CBC Performing Arts Scholarship as well as a Bank of America Joe Martin Scholar.
Spring 2016, Taylor-Alexis will be performing Dorabella in Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte with the Peabody Opera and to be followed by a return performance as Ratmir in the Bel Cantanti production of Ruslan and Lyudmila. She will be featured as the alto soloist for the Mozart Requiem at Friedberg hall with Maestro Edward Polochick.
Summer of 2016, she will be a performing with the iSing! Music Festival in Suzhou, China. She will perform western opera and folk opera in the original Mandarin Chinese language.
In Fall 2014, Taylor-Alexis delivered an acclaimed performance as Le Prince Charmant in Massenet’s Cendrillion with the Peabody Opera. Spring of 2015, she performed Rimsky-Korskov’s Snow Maiden with Bel Cantanti as Lel and concurrently while performing in the world premiere of Stinney.
She has performed several roles from various opera scenes such as Sister Helen from Dead Man Walking, Charlotte from Werther, Sextus from Giulio Cesare, Carmen from Carmen, and many more. She has participated in Master classes presented by Susan Neves and Phyllis Pancella. Taylor-Alexis has also participated in summer opera programs like the Crittenden Opera Studio in Bethesda, MD the Redwoods Opera Studio in Mendocino, CA and the Orlando International Opera Program in Orlando, FL.
Not one to waste a moment, she is continually involved in freelance opera and musical theater performances.
